Shiny New Cars

Happy Turkey Day everyone! I hope everyone has a great holiday and extended weekend. It's been so crazy here since I got back from vacation that I've barely had time to keep up with my friend's journals! Maybe someday I'll get to post about the Arizona vacation. I just got pictures back. I got some great pics of the Grand Canyon.

Exciting news... a new car is on the horizon for me! The 95 Honda Civic will soon be going to a new home. I feel a little sad about this. We've been together for so long and I have become so attached. I hope I can find a good home for him. One where they will wash him and keep his maintenance up. I test drove new Hondas on Friday and the difference was amazing! It looks like I'll be getting a Honda Accord Sedan EX. It's time for me to graduate to the world of four doors.

Well, back to the grind. I hope I can get out of here by 3pm.

I'm Back!

I'm back from vacation in body, but my mind is now buried in work! I hope to dig out and get caught up on LJ this week and then post about the fabulous vacation!

I Feel Sick

I always entertained the idea that Bush might win again, but I never really accepted it. As of two minutes ago it is now official.

It makes me so sad to know that more than half the country thinks Bush is doing a good job and is the best person to run our country. I feel like I don't understand people anymore or what the United States represents.

In a way I hope that the next four years are a complete nightmare so people can see what they really voted for...

Go ahead Bush... invade Iran and Saudi Arabia, reimplement the draft, drill in Alaska and Colorado, give the rich more tax cuts, give incentives to companies shipping jobs overseas, appoint conservative and religious-oriented supreme court justices, make abortion illegal again, limit women's access to birth control, pass a constitutional ammendment that makes marriage only between a man and a woman, take away my right to listen to, read or watch material that might be offensive to some people... (I could go on forever).

GO AHEAD! I DO NOT CARE ANYMORE! FUCK THIS COUNTRY! FUCK YOU BUSH! AND FUCK ALL OF YOU THAT VOTED FOR BUSH!

Monday... Blech!

Got more than halfway to work today when I realized I had left my laptop at home. Ugh!
Needless to say I spent the first hour and 45 minutes of my morning in the car and was an hour late to work. Not a good way to start the work week.

Friday Again

So it's Friday again and I don't feel like doing any work. Luckily I don't have any pressing deadlines today. Also, we have a marketing offsite this afternoon at our VP's house. I think they are doing a pig roast. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I like my food to not resemble an animal. Maybe I'm weird, but I like to pretend that it's not actually flesh that I'm eating.

It's going to be a busy weekend with Halloween and the Redskins/Packers game. I hope we have good weather for the game. I'm looking forward to seeing dharmabumx and moosebraying in their tailgating element. When it comes to tailgating I am quite inexperienced.

I got my Halloween costume yesterday. I am a Geisha girl. Actually the costume is not so bad considering this was a last minute thing and I had to buy one of those lame halloween kits. It's funny because when I was a kid my mom or I always made my costumes. The last two years I didn't do Halloween because I was working at the restaurant and this year I buy a lame packaged one. I must be getting old and lazy.

Things to accomplish this weekend:

1. Plant bulbs/pull out tomato plant
2. Clean ferret cages
3. Pay Bills
4. Begin packing for trip??

We're about one week out from the AZ trip. I can't believe it's here already. I feel kinda guilty taking a week off so soon. Oh well... it's not like I'm that important and life is to short to not make time for trips to National Parks, Alma Maters and friend's new homes.

"Liberals and Democrats have not suffered enough."

That was an actual quote I heard on the Bill O'Reilly show today as I was out getting my lunch. When did the Democrats/Liberals become a separate species that suffers less then any other person affected by the attacks on 9/11, the war in Iraq or the domestic issues we have in this country.

And when did "Liberal" become a dirty word??!! I swear I hear Liberal thrown around now in the same way that people must have said Jew or negro at one point. I don't understand it!

The Urinal Rule

Why don't women follow the "urinal rule" that men so religiously adhere to? For those of you unfamiliar with the "urinal rule":

If there are 5 urinals in a men's restroom like so:

A B C D E

And if Man #1 goes to urinal A,

then Man #2 will automatically go to urinal E. (By NO MEANS would Man #2 go to urinal B!!)

If Man #3 comes in while Men #1 & 2 are still there then he of course will go to urinal C.

And if heaven forbid a Man #4 came in and urinals A, C and E were being used then he might be inclined to use a stall.

So why is it when I go into an empty bathroom and go to the far stall to do my business some dumb woman comes in and sits down in the stall right next to me?! Am I crazy that this bothers me? Does this bother any other women out there?? I would never use the stall right next to someone unless I had to.

Do the rules change when you are in a packed restroom, i.e. at a sporting event or concert?

The Best Part of Martinsville, yeah right...

Dale Jarrett and Matt Kenseth running into each other and a few seconds later Casey Mears getting in a minor wreck.

That was the end of the race for me...

Billing Sucks

I am dealing with way too many billing issues for activities and sales incentives that I did not initiate or coordinate. In fact, I wasn't even working here when these things happened! It's driving me crazy. Of course there is a different process for each partner and nothing is running smoothly. I'm going crazy and I don't feel like doing any more work this week. I feel like napping.

I spent two days this week in back-to-back meetings. It's exhausting going from one meeting to the next and then of course you get back to your desk and have work to do there. No fun. I like that I'm challenged and I'm busy, but it's getting a little overwhelming.

I'm looking forward to my weekend, especially poker night tonight. No other real plans at this point. I am prioritizing rest, especially since next weekend will be very busy - work offsite Friday evening, Halloween party Saturday, Redskins game on Sunday. Phew!

Only an hour and a half until I leave...
